Most maritime certificates have a validity period, especially when it comes to STCW certification. The validity period of such certificates is set at 5 years, which must be renewed upon expiration. AYA renews STCW certificates for you.
Of course, there are procedures for renewing a certificate. The Ministry of Maritime Affairs of the Republic of Croatia allows the renewal of the STCW certification only if it is issued by the Republic of Croatia. Foreign certificates cannot be renewed through the standard certification renewal procedure, but it is necessary to attend a renewal course.
The standard procedure for renewing a STCW certificate is through navigation. This means that you can renew STCW certificates without attending the course if you meet the requirement of 1 year of navigation in the last 5 years.
Certificates such as Basic Safety, Advance Fire Fighting, Survival Craft and Rescue Boats are renewed by taking the renewal exam. All other STCW certificates are renewed without exams, by attaching proof of fulfilment of all prerequisites.
AYA as your career partner is available for all the help you need to renew your certificate.
